Hi, everyone! Today we’re going to talk about a snack that’s pure power: homemade, delicious, sugar-free energy bars!
That’s right, a wonderful option for those who want to satisfy their sweet tooth without sacrificing their health.
And best of all? You’ll see how easy and quick it is to make these beauties.
In just 5 minutes, you can prepare them and then just wait for them to set. Let’s go to the step by step of this wonder?
Ingredients:
-
- 120g of chocolate without added sugar
- 100g oat flakes
- 80g of walnuts
- 8 dates (those dried little fruits)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey (you can substitute with agave syrup or maple syrup if you want a vegan version)
- 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
How to do it:
-
- First, soak the dates in boiling water for about 15 minutes to soften them.
- Meanwhile, blend the oat flakes in a blender until they become a fine flour, and add the cocoa powder.
- Add 50g of the walnuts and beat again to chop everything very finely.
- Drain the dates, remove the pits, and put them in the blender.
- Beat until it becomes a very smooth dough.
- Transfer this mixture to a container, add the honey and mix with your hands until you have a compact dough.
- Shape into bars of the size you prefer.
- Place them on a tray with parchment paper and place in the freezer for at least 2 hours.
- For the frosting, chop the remaining chocolate, melt in a bain-marie or in the microwave, mix in the olive oil and chopped nuts.
- Remove the bars from the freezer, use a toothpick to dip each one into the chocolate, coating well.
- Let the chocolate harden and voilà!Extra tips:
- Feel free to experiment with different types of nuts, such as almonds, hazelnuts, or macadamias.
- If you can’t find chocolate without added sugar, opt for one with a high cocoa content.
- You can store these bars in the freezer for several weeks, just don’t forget to wrap them individually so they don’t stick together.
- Want to add something extra? Add chia seeds, shredded coconut or pieces of dried fruit to the mix.
So, easy, right? These energy bars are perfect for a quick, healthy and energizing snack.
