Ingredients:
- 6 to 7 medium potatoes
- 1 and a half teaspoons of salt
- 1 egg
- 50 g butter
- 6 tablespoons of wheat flour
- 150g grated hard cheese (such as parmesan or mozzarella)
- Vegetable oil (enough for frying)
Preparation method:
Peel the potatoes, cut into smaller pieces, and cook in salted water for about 20 minutes. Drain well, mash, and mix with the egg, salt, and melted butter.
Add the flour to the mixture and stir until a smooth dough forms. Divide into 4 equal parts and shape into balls.
- Tip:Â Sift the flour before adding to avoid lumps.
Using a rolling pin, roll each ball into a rectangle about 0.4 cm thick.Â
Sprinkle ¼ of the grated cheese over each one and fold the dough to form a rectangular stuffed bread.
Heat oil in a frying pan and fry each bread for about 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Frying time may vary depending on the power of your stove. Fry the first loaf as a test to determine the ideal time.
