Japanese-Inspired Longevity Tea (Moringa & Lemon Detox Drink)

🌿 Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot water (not boiling, around 80°C / 176°F)

  • 1 teaspoon organic moringa leaves or moringa powder

  • 1 teaspoon high-quality green tea or matcha powder

  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional, for sweetness)

  • 1 slice fresh lemon or 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • A few mint leaves (optional, for aroma)

👩‍🍳 Preparation

  1. Boil water and let it cool slightly for a minute or two.
(Boiling water can destroy delicate antioxidants in green tea and moringa.)

  2. Add the moringa leaves or powder into a teapot or cup. Pour the hot water over it and let it steep for 5–7 minutes.

  3. If you’re using green tea or matcha, add it after steeping the moringa and stir well to blend.

  4. Add lemon juice or a fresh lemon slice. The vitamin C in lemon enhances the absorption of antioxidants from green tea and moringa.

  5. Sweeten lightly with honey if desired. Avoid adding honey to very hot water to preserve its nutrients.

  6. Stir gently and enjoy warm.

🌸 Health Benefits (Science-Based)

  • Moringa leaves are packed with vitamins A, C, and E, iron, and calcium. They help reduce inflammation, balance blood sugar, and support immunity.

  • Green tea is rich in catechins (especially EGCG), known for promoting heart health, brain function, and fat metabolism.

  • Lemon adds vitamin C, supports digestion, detoxification, and helps in collagen formation for youthful skin.

  • Honey and mint add soothing, antimicrobial, and refreshing effects.
