Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 red bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 3 green onions sliced
Sauce
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- ½ cup beef broth or water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain, rinse lightly, and set aside.
- Brown the beef in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon oil. Break it apart and cook until no longer pink. Drain excess fat and remove beef from pan.
- Sauté the vegetables: Add remaining oil to the same pan. Add garlic, ginger, carrots, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Cook for about 3–4 minutes until slightly tender.
- Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, broth, and cornstarch.
- Combine: Return beef to the pan. Add cooked noodles and pour the sauce over everything. Toss well.
- Simmer: Cook 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the noodles.
- Finish: Sprinkle with green onions, toss once more, and serve hot.
