Ingredients:
- 300 g wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 650 ml of water
Preparation method:
In a container (bowl or basin) mix the wheat flour with the sugar and salt.
Put the water in a pan, boil it and then pour in the flour.
Mix well and cook – stirring continuously – until the dough comes away from the pan.
Place the cooked dough in a bowl, sprinkle a little flour and mix lightly.
Transfer to a floured table (or counter), add a dash of olive oil and knead until you obtain a smooth dough, similar to bread dough.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Then divide into six equal parts, make small balls and roll out with a rolling pin (or glass bottle) to form discs.
As we mentioned before, if you wish, you can fill it with your favorite filling and close it like a pastry.
Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.
Remove and place on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess fat.
Consume immediately!
Tips:
Try adding chopped fresh herbs, such as parsley, chives, or basil, for a fresh touch.
To intensify the flavor, include seasonings such as smoked paprika, black pepper and/or garlic powder.
If you want to stuff it, use cheese, ham, shredded chicken, ground beef or sautéed vegetables.
