Crispy Honey-Glazed Steak Strips in the Air Fryer
📝
Ingredients
1 lb thinly sliced flank steak
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon salt (optional)
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce (optional, for deeper flavor)
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Chopped green onions (for garnish)
🍳 Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Steak
1. Pat the steak slices dry with a paper towel.
2. In a large bowl, mix the steak with:
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
Optional: ¼ teaspoon salt
3. Let it marinate for at least 15–20 minutes (or longer in the fridge for more flavor).
Step 2: Coat the Steak
1. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of cornstarch over the marinated steak. Toss until evenly coated. This helps create a crispy texture in the air fryer.
Step 3: Air Fry
1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
2. Arrange steak strips in a single layer in the basket. Don’t overcrowd—cook in batches if needed.
3. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and browned.
Step 4: Make the Honey Glaze
While the steak is air frying:
1. In a small bowl, mix:
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce (optional)
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2. Warm it slightly in the microwave (10–15 seconds) or on the stove so it’s easy to drizzle.
Step 5: Glaze and Serve
1. Once steak strips are crispy, transfer them to a bowl.
2. Drizzle the honey glaze over the hot steak and toss to coat.
3. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
