Mushroom and Swiss Burger Foil Packets
Mushroom and Swiss Burger Foil Packets
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 slices Swiss cheese
1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lb baby potatoes, halved
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon butter (optional, for extra richness)
Non-stick cooking spray or foil-friendly oil
Directions:
Preheat grill to medium-high heat or oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.
In another bowl, toss potatoes with olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Cut 4 large squares of foil. Spray each with non-stick spray.
Place a portion of potatoes in the center of each foil square. Add a beef patty on top, followed by sliced mushrooms and red onion.
Fold foil into packets, sealing tightly.
Grill or bake for 25–30 minutes, until potatoes are tender and burgers are fully cooked (internal temp of 160°F).
Carefully open foil packets, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each burger, and close loosely for 2 minutes until melted.
Optionally, top potatoes with a small pat of butter before serving for added richness.
