Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme
Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme
You Will Need:
Base Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 6 large burrito-size flour tortillas
- 6 small tostada shells (or crunchy corn tortillas)
- 1–1½ cups shredded cheddar and/or Monterey Jack cheese
- 1–1½ cups shredded lettuce
- 1–2 tomatoes, diced
- ½ cup diced onion (optional)
- 1–1½ cups sour cream
- 1 cup nacho cheese sauce or queso (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Beef:
- In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- Drain excess grease, then stir in taco seasoning with ⅓ cup water.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
2. Warm the Tortillas:
- Microwave tortillas for 20–30 seconds so they’re soft and easier to fold without tearing.
3. Assemble Each Crunchwrap:
On each large tortilla, layer in the center in this order:
- Scoop of seasoned ground beef
- Drizzle with nacho cheese sauce
- Place a tostada shell on top
- Spread sour cream over the shell
- Add lettuce, tomato, onions (if using)
- Top with shredded cheese
4. Wrap It Up:
- Fold the edges of the tortilla up and over the center (like folding petals in a flower).
- If the tortilla doesn’t fully cover the center, cut a small piece from an extra tortilla and place it over the filling before folding.
5. Cook Until Golden:
- Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place the Crunchwrap seam-side down and cook for 2–3 minutes, pressing slightly.
- Flip and cook the other side until golden brown and crispy.
Optional Add-ins:
- Guacamole or sliced avocado
- Hot sauce or jalapeños for heat
- Refried beans or black beans for extra substance
