I’ve been making bread for 30 years, and this is one of my favorites! Very easy and simple cornbread to make!

Just a little patience for the fermentation and in no time you will have golden, delicious buns coming out of the oven!

Ingredients:

    • 3 tablespoons of sugar
    • 1 cup warm milk
    • 1 tablespoon of dry biological yeast
    • 1 can of sweet corn (drained)
    • ½ cup oil
    • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 500g wheat flour

Preparation method:

In a blender, add the sugar, warm milk and yeast. Blend quickly, just to activate the yeast.

Then add the corn, oil, eggs and cornmeal. Beat until you get a homogeneous mixture.

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the wheat flour little by little, mixing well after each addition.

Knead with your hands until you form a smooth, slightly sticky dough.

Cover with plastic wrap, a plastic bag and a clean cloth, and let the dough rest until it doubles in size.

After rising, press it lightly with your hands to remove the air.

Divide the dough into small portions, roll each one out with a rolling pin and fold it, joining ends to ends, forming balls.

Place the rolls on a buttered baking sheet, cover and let rest for another hour.

Finally, brush with a little milk, sprinkle cornmeal on top and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30 minutes, or until golden.
