Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 220 grams
  • 1/4 cup white sugar 50 grams
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese 100 grams
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup milk 180 ml
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil 80 ml

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Prepare the Loaf Pan: Lightly grease a 9×5 inch (23×13 cm) loaf pan.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, white sugar, baking powder, salt, and shredded Cheddar cheese. Stir until evenly mixed.
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another large bowl, beat together the egg, milk, and vegetable oil until well-blended.
  5. Combine Mixtures: Slowly stir the flour and cheese mixture into the egg mixture, mixing just until moistened.
  6. Pour and Bake: Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and bake for about 35 minutes.

Notes

This Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread can be served warm, toasted with butter, or alongside soups and salads. Experiment with different cheese types and add-ins like herbs for added flavor.
