Cat lovers are at an advantage, you know?
Studies show that simply watching videos of these cats on the internet gives you more energy and energy.
Now imagine the benefits we receive when we raise a beautiful kitten…
Thinking about this, we decided to list some:
1. It’s good for the heart
When a cat purrs, it creates vibrations of 20 and 140Hz, which are considered therapeutic for many diseases.
Oddly enough, studies have linked cats’ purring to reduced stress, decreased symptoms of dyspnea, and even reduced risk of heart attack.
2. Helps comfort a sad heart
There’s nothing like having a pet when we lose a loved one or are feeling deep sadness.
Cats are there to help people get over their loss more quickly.
People in mourning report talking to their pet to vent their feelings, as it is often easier to talk to something that is unresponsive and non-judgmental than to another human being.
3. Helps when flirting
A British survey found that 82% of women agree that they are more attracted to men who like animals.
And while having a dog can do wonders, 90% of single women said that men who own a cat are “nicer” than those who don’t.
So, if you are single and are willing to raise a kitten with lots of love, you can bet on this tip!
4. It is a sign of greater intelligence
Believe!
A 2010 survey of pet owners by the University of Bristol found that people who owned cats were more likely to have university degrees than dog lovers.
In 2014, a researcher in Wisconsin also surveyed 600 college students and found that cat owners had higher IQs.
Of course, it is not the cat itself that makes the owner smarter.
The researchers who conducted the Bristol study said that people with higher IQs tend to study for longer hours, and because cats require less attention than dogs, they are a better choice for an intellectual.
Does that make sense to you?
5. Ensures a healthier heart
Owning any pet is good for your heart.
Cats, in particular, have lower stress and anxiety levels – possibly because they don’t require as much effort as dogs.
Petting a cat has a positive calming effect.
One study found that over a ten-year period, cat owners were 30 percent less likely to die from a heart attack than non-cat owners (although this may be because cat owners are more relaxed and have less stress in general).
6. Fulfill your need for companionship
Have you ever heard that dogs are more affectionate than cats?
This is a myth!
In fact, cats can be just as good as dogs, especially for women.
A 2003 Austrian study found that having a cat in the house is the emotional equivalent of having a romantic partner.
In addition to initiating contact most of the time, studies have shown that cats will remember kindness shown to them and repay the favor later.
Domesticated cats can make a cry very similar to that of a human baby.
And because our brains are wired to respond to our children’s distress, it’s nearly impossible to ignore what a cat wants when it demands it like that.
7. Reveals personality
Your choice of pet reveals something about your personality.
While dog lovers tend to lead more sociable lives, cat owners are quieter and more introverted.
8. Helps us get a good night’s sleep
Several studies and surveys in the UK have found that people (especially women) prefer sleeping with their cats to sleeping with their partners.
Can you believe it?
And they even report sleeping better with a cat than with a human.
9. Causes fewer allergies
In 2002, the National Institutes of Health released a study that found that children under the age of one who were exposed to a cat were less likely to develop allergies—and not just allergies to pets.
According to Marshall Plaut, MD, chief of the allergy mechanisms section at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, high levels of animal exposure, when started early, appear to protect against several common allergies, including allergies to dust mites, ragweed, cat dander, and dog dander.
But be careful!
A parasite found in cats, Toxoplasma gondii, is a threat to pregnant women and newborn babies.
Ideally, you should change your cat’s litter box every day.
10. They can save human lives
Cats have a reputation for being aloof and not caring about their humans, but they have saved countless lives over the years.
There is a story that became famous: a cat named Simon received the highest medal available to military animals.
He was aboard HMS Amethyst, sailing down the Yangtze River in 1949 during the Chinese Civil War, when a shell hit the ship, killing several marines and seriously wounding Simon.
The event marked the beginning of the 101-day siege of the ship, which would become known as the Yangtze Incident.
Simon was treated and, despite being injured, performed his natural duty and began catching the rats that were threatening the ship.
Additionally, it offered emotional support to surviving sailors.
Simon died not long after the ship returned to the United Kingdom, but was buried with full military honors and posthumously awarded the Dickin Medal for his bravery.
